Early this morning, TMZ reported that famed rapper 2 Chainz was robbed at gunpoint for his wallet yesterday in San Francisco. However, the San Francisco Police Department, via Radio.com, gave the following statement:

“He was not the victim of a robbery. He was there, but he wasn’t the victim.”

The story thus far is that 2 Chainz and his posse were walking in the 800 block of Howard Street, when an unknown suspect fired a gunshot, and a member of 2 Chainz' crew fell, while the rest "ran away from the incident like cockroaches running from a flashlight." (TMZ.com) The suspect then robbed the man on the ground of "an unknown item and fled the scene.” (Radio.com)

Amongst all of these conflicting stories, an official statement from 2 Chainz would help illuminate the incident more thoroughly. The only thing public 2 Chainz has done post-robbery was retweeting a message a fan sent after his Summer Jam concert on Twitter.

2 Chainz also tweeted the following posts just an hour ago, which seem to attribute to the rapper's security, and him stating that he's "2 blessed 2 stress." However, no word on his fallen comrade.

The armed suspect is currently on the run from the San Francisco PD, who claim that during this entire process, 2 Chainz' entourage have been "very uncooperative."

While the investigation is on-going, enjoy 2 Chainz' new song with Pharell, "Feds Watching," his first single from his untitled new album dropping September 10th.
