In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Sub Pop records will be collaborating with TOMS to create a line of Sub Pop-inspired shoes. A statement released on the Sub Pop blog explains the reasons behind the partnership:

"We are immensely excited about this partnership, and we are proud to work with TOMS. Sub Pop and TOMS share a commitment to philanthropy and a creative, responsible approach to our respective businesses. We at Sub Pop admire TOMS mission statement – “With every product you purchase, TOMS will help a person in need. One for One.” – and we try, in whatever small ways we can, to give back to our community in a similar fashion. And, of course, we are happy to be associated with footwear as comfortable and stylish as TOMS."

The collection will feature a gray lace up Paseo shoe for men, a navy slip-on classic for men, and a red slip-on classic for women. All three will include a unique Sup Pop design. To sweeten the deal, every purchase from the collection will come with a free download code for "new and rare tracks" from a variety af Sub Pop artists, including Mudhoney, Father John Misty, METZ, and more.

The shoes are scheduled to go on sale July 1st. You can purchase them online at TOMS.com or Nordstrom.com, and also at the TOMS Flagship Store in Venice, CA or the Nordstrom flagship store in downtown Seattle. Additionally, the shoes will be for sale at the Sub Pop Silver Jubilee on July 13th.
