British folk rockers Mumford & Sons just signed their first band to their very own label Gentlemen of the Road. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, California indie rock band, have the honor of being the first artists to sign to the label.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Mumford & Sons met in 2011 while touring on the Railroad Revival Tour. From that tour, the relationship blossomed in to a friendship, which then blossomed in to a wondrous business relationship.
Mumford & Sons recorded their first album and formed the label before signing with a major record label in order to retain ownership and artistic control a few years ago. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros self-titled third album will be the first non-Mumford & Sons album to be released via Gentlemen of the Road.
