Now that Randy Jackson is done with American Idol, his next venture will be producing Smokey Robinson's upcoming album of duets. The Motown legend will be recording songs he had written over the course of his long career in the business.

Known as the frontman of The Miracles for a long time, Robinson is also a prolific songwriter, having written not only songs for himself, but also for other big artists, including Marvin Gaye and The Temptations. The tracklist for the new duets album has not been released, but with Robinson's history of music, it will surely be an impressive one.

The artists who will be collaborating with Robinson have also not been made public, but it has been said that they will be both "contemporary and classic artists."

Billboard quotes Robinson as saying "Randy Jackson is a longtime friend, a great musician and an amazing, experienced record producer. I'm honored and very happy to be working with him. He's my brother."

Jackson is quoted as saying "It's my utmost pleasure to produce this amazing duets record with the legend Smokey Robinson. He is one of the most incredible songwriters of all time. It's going to be hot!"

There is no release date set for the album yet.
