Wale's latest album The Gifted has topped the charts for this week, outselling both J. Cole's Born Sinner and Kanye West's Yeezus. This is Wale's first-ever number one album. According to the most recent data from Hits Daily Double, The Gifted, which was released on June 25th, has sold over 150,000 copies this week, besting Born Sinner's 83,000 copies and far outnumbering Yeezus's 65,000 copies.

The album's success comes as vindication for Wale, who was written off by most in the hip hop community after his first two albums, 2009's Attention Deficit and 2011's Ambition, failed to gain much commercial success. Yesterday, he took to Twitter to express his feelings about the people who've put him down:

The album is available on iTunes and Amazon.
