In 2008, HBO filmed a pilot episode for a Curb Your Enthusiasm-inspired show starring Kanye West. The pilot never aired, but actress Alison Quinn has posted a clip of the never before seen footage on YouTube. The clip involves Kanye appearing for a disappointing Make-A-Wish visit with a less than enthusiastic hip hop fan. Check it out in the video above.
The untitled show had promise, but unfortunately HBO never picked it up. It utilized a stripped-down format built on improv comedy, with Kanye playing himself. It was meant to be similar to the HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry Charles, who served as executive producer for Curb, was also involved with Kanye's show. The network, however, chose not to air it. In an interview in 2008, Charles remarked, "It was really good, but ... I think it was too hardcore for HBO." Hardcore or not, now we can all enjoy a little taste of what could have been.
