Foxygen can not catch a break. Between Sam France's breakdown at this year's SXSW, as well as last week's drama on the group's Tumblr, the series of unfortunate events continue as France broke his leg Monday night at the Minneapolis venue, First Avenue. While the group's live performances are regularly filled with wild shenanigans, things took a radical turn when the lead singer jumped off the stage and fell onto one of the barricades. The incident occurred during the band's first song - "On Blue Mountain."
Paramedics were brought to the venue and France was carried off in a stretcher. The band's Twitter released the following messages, apologizing to concert-goers as well as announcing the band's cancelation of the shows in Vancouver and Seattle.
SORRY MINNEAPOLIS - we will make it up to you, we promise!!

Sadly, the Vancouver & Seattle shows will have to be cancelled. Sam needs to have surgery this morning. We will be back.

The good news is that the band's Twitter says "Sam is OK," and that the group's shows at Pickathon might still be a go. In spite of all the prior drama, the band's publicist has claimed Foxygen are not on the verge of disbanding.
Hopefully this last escapade is the last the group will be dealing with anytime soon, and we at Zumic wish a healthy and speedy recovery for France.
