For the last month, there have been murmurings about Arcade Fire's upcoming album, rumored to be called Reflektor. A mysterious street art campaign involving a diamond shape including the word "REFLEKTOR" has been assumed to be for the indie band's new record, due out in October. This was unconfirmed throughout August, and it wasn't even clear whether Reflektor referred to an album title or the name of a single. That detail is still unknown, but we do seem to be one step closer to the truth: A new banner in New York City links Reflektor to Arcade Fire, along with the date and time of September 9th at 9 pm.
No one knows yet what will happen at 9:00 on September 9th. It could be a new music video, as Arcade Fire did recently film a video with director Anton Corbijn:
CONFIRMED: The new Arcade Fire music video is directed by Anton Corbijn. Cinematographer: Martijn van Broekhuizen.

Alternately, it could be the official reveal of the new album cover or tracklist. We only need to wait two weeks to find out. But at least we have confirmation that the Reflektor campaign is indeed for Arcade Fire.
