Beatles Will Release Volume 2 Of BBC Live Recordings

Beatles fans are in for a treat: Detective work done by some dedicated fans on the Wog Blog site has revealed Universal Music's plans to re-release the Beatles' Live At The BBC recordings, which were originally made available in a collection of nearly 70 tracks in 1994. In addition to this re-release, we can expect a new volume of recordings not included in the original collection. This release will be titled On Air - Live At The BBC Volume 2, and is expected to be available in November. Last year, the BBC held the 2012 Listener's Archive campaign asking the public to provide them with home taped shows, and it is speculated that some good Beatles material may have came out of this. There is still no confirmation on which or how many songs will be included, but this should be announced soon.

The title and release month were uncovered on the Universal Music's Philippines company, MCA Music. Their Facebook page included the info, along with what is presumed to be the cover art for the new compilation:

In addition to the BBC live recordings, there will also be a new book out in October. The Beatles – The Archives: 1962-1970 was written by Beatles scholar Kevin Howlett, and documents the Beatles' BBC appearances during the 1960s. It includes transcribed conversations as well as previously unreleased photographs of the band.
