Pharrell Williams has been flying by the seat of his rolodex in 2013. Boasting chart-topping collaborations with Daft Punk and Robin Thicke, as well as appearances on songs by 2 Chainz, Nelly, Azealia Banks, Tyler, the Creator, The Lonely Island, Kelly Rowland, Destiny's Child, Mac Miller, The Weeknd and Jay Z, the rapper/singer/producer is arguably the year's most successful musician who hasn't released an album.

It should come as no shock then, to learn that yet another pop chart mainstay has pegged Pharrell for a collaboration. NME reports that Pharrell is "in talks" to work with teen sensations One Direction on their new album, something that has been confirmed by the group's label boss, Simon Cowell.

Pharrell spoke to UK newspaper The Mirror, saying:

"We are definitely talking. From what I've heard of their new stuff I'm pleasantly surprised. Their new stuff is definitely a progression and an elevation. I will hopefully be getting involved as we are definitely in talks. I don't think some people realise how hard those boys work. There is so much more that goes into One Direction than just the band. They are a brand and are huge. They are incredibly hard-working. I'm sure it will excite our female fans if we're on a record together."

Female fans, you've been warned. Prepare yourselves accordingly.
