On Monday night, Pearl Jam fans lined up by the hundreds to get first dibs on exclusive Pearl Jam tour merchandise. Pearl Jam and Volcom teamed up for a special one night only pop-up shop at the Volcom store (446 Broadway in Manhattan) with doors opening at midnight. In celebration of Pearl Jam's new release Lightning Bolt, fans were able to purchase the new album as well as tour shirts, hoodies, posters, and toys:

As an added bonus, Lightning Bolt album artist Don Pendleton was in the store painting:

I had gotten on line at 12:30 AM and waited patiently (about 2 hours) until I entered the store. There were about fifty people inside and we were allowed to take our time and browse through the various shirts that were offered. Many people walked out with bags full of shirts, a couple of posters, and an overall satisfying shopping experience. Being a Brooklyn guy, I favored the Brooklyn Bridge shirt. Customers shopped while a random selection of Pearl Jam songs played through the store's speakers. There were plenty of shirts available and I don't recall the store running out of any particular item. I was one of the last to leave the store, which was around 3:30 AM. I have been to a few of these kind of events and sometimes they have gotten a bit chaotic, but this one, in my experience, went as smooth as possible. Pictures of the event are below.

Now, to look forward to the Brooklyn shows!
