Box of Stars is a 501c 3 non profit organization that raises mental health awareness through music to reduce stigma, promote recovery and save lives.

We are excited to announce the launch of the official funding campaign to support our first project: Last Box of Sparklers - A Tribute to Mark Linkous, which will be running through November 20, 2013. The Flaming Lips, The Joy Formidable, David Lowery, Cowboy Junkies, Dinosaur Jr., Mercury Rev, Margot and The Nuclear So-and So's and many other fantastic artists have contributed to create a two album collection of Sparklehorse songs to raise awareness for mental health. If you give to our Indiegogo campaign and help us fund this music and our message, you will have a choice of many different perks for your contribution. This project is definitely worth checking out, but even if you can't contribute the most important thing is that we all need to be part of creating this new conversation about mental health, so please pass this message along.

• We all have mental health. When we have "good" mental health we are more able to cope with stress, are more productive, and feel good about ourselves. When we are in "poor" mental health, it is more difficult to cope, to achieve, and to feel happy and satisfied.
• Mental illness is not shameful. It is not a sign of personal weakness.
• Its okay to talk about how you are feeling.
• Its okay to get help.
• If you think a friend or family member is struggling with their mental health it is okay to talk to them about it. Ask them how they are doing. Reach out to those around you with compassion, empathy and understanding and never be afraid to offer your support.

We've got the music and the mission to start a new conversation about mental health. Visit the our Indiegogo page and read all about it, donate if you can, and share with your friends!
