Even though Pharrell Williams won three Grammys and was nominated for an Oscar this year, most people are talking about his hat and not about his achievements. Now, it looks like his fashion sense is paying off. The hat was sold on Ebay for $44,100, all of which is being donated to his own charity From One Hand to AnOTHER. The organization was started by Pharrell in 2008 to increase the percentage of high school graduates in the United States.

Some have noted that the hat looks a lot like the Arby's logo, which started a back and forth between Arby's and Pharrell on Twitter. Arby's started the joke by Tweeting:

After Pharrell sold the hat on Ebay, he thanked whoever was the highest bidder. It was then revealed that Arby's were the ones who dropped $44,100 for the hat, stating on Twitter:

The black hat he wore during his Oscar performance was not the same hat that was sold, which was the brown hat he wore during the Grammys.

The hat, which Pharrell calls a buffalo hat, is the subject of many goofy memes on the internet. It actually holds historical significance in the hip hop community, having been worn by Malcom McLaren in his 1982 video for "Buffalo Gals."

You can buy Pharrell's new album G I R L, out today on iTunes. Unfortunately, you can no longer buy his hat.
