Funk / jazz trio Soulive continued their annual "Bowlive" residency on Wednesday night at the Brooklyn Bowl in New York with a little help from their friends. Susan Tedeschi, Tash Neal (The London Souls), Joe Russo (Furthur), and others sat in throughout the night to lend their support on selected songs. Highlights of the night included a 1 - 2 combination of the Beatles classics "I Want You" into a jammy "She's So (Heavy)," Joe Russo channeling his inner Keith Moon for "Up & Out," and a crowd sing-a-long for the night's first encore song, "Turn On Your Lovelight." The Shady Horns and acclaimed blues pianist Jon Cleary helped to bring the funk and keep the fans dancing all night.
Soulive will keep the party going tonight and have two more nights scheduled before the run comes to an end. Limited tickets will be available at the door's box office the night of each show.
