Heaven Adores You, the new documentary that aims to celebrate the life and music of the late Elliott Smith, released a teaser video today for its May 5th premiere at the San Francisco International Film Festival. You can watch the video above.

The project was funded by Kickstarter in 2011 and will feature unreleased recordings, as well as photos, video and audio of Elliott Smith. Interviewees include Smith's sister Ashley, former bandmates and collaborators Jon Brion, Larry Crane, Neil Gust, Tony Lash, Brandt Peterson, Rob Schnapf, Kill Rock Stars' Slim Moon, and others.

The teaser pulls at your heartstrings and even features the calm and sweet voice of Elliott Smith. He can be heard saying, "I don't really care where I fit into anything or if there is anything to fit into. It's just, I like music, you know? That's the thing. It's very uncomplicated."

You can find the first sneak peak video for Heaven Adores You right here on Zumic. For more information on the premiere, you can visit heavenadoresyou.com.
