Fugitive Peter Sunde, co-founder of bitTorrent directory The Pirate Bay, has been arrested in Sweden. He was sentenced in 2009 to 8 months of prison, and according to the BBC, has been sought after since 2012 by the Swedish National Police Board.

Despite being on the run, he recently managed to run for the European Parliament, albeit unsuccessfully, under the Pirate Party of Finland, a political group with platforms including the reform of copywright law and greater transparency in the government. "The state said I was a criminal, so going into politics was a given since most politicians are criminals," Sunde tweeted. To promote his campaign, he released a quirky video that highlights his romantic side, telling TorrentFreak, “Most politicians are boring and unromantic. Romance is needed because it means you have a heart and a soul." Watch it and let your heart thump.

Fellow co-founders of The Pirate Bay have also faced legal trouble, though each with different results. While Carl Lundstroem has completed his prison sentence, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg faces separate charges for hacking in Denmark, and Fredrik Neij is believed to be hiding out in Laos.
