Sonic Highways, The Foo Fighters' upcoming HBO series, hits the airwaves this Friday, and they've shared an extended teaser of the show.

"To sequence a series around the sequence of an album and make them both work is a pain in the fuckin' ass. And we did it," said Dave Grohl discussing the show's production process. For eight episodes, The Foo Fighters will be conducting a songwriting experiment. Each episode will take place in a different city significant to the band. Seattle for example, was chosen since it was home to Nirvana and it's where Grohl recorded the first Foo Fighters album. For each city, the group will learn about the musical history of the area and interview local artists. As the finale of each episode, the band will premiere the song they wrote. At the end of this teaser, you can preview a snippet of "The Feast and the Famine," the longest clip we've heard so far.

Sonic Highways will focus on how music links the country together. Some of the artists shown in the preview include Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Chuck D, Dan Auerbach, and many others. It premieres Friday, October 17th at 11 PM. The band's album of the same name is out November 10th.

The album Sonic Highways can be pre-ordered on Amazon. For The Foo Fighters' latest music, news, and tour dates, check out their Zumic artist page.
