2014 produced a bevy of really good metal music. Equally good, if not even better, were the music videos that came with it. We were treated to twerking, larping, cinematic epics, animation, and more.

Some of the best from 2014 came from Monster Magnet, Red Fang, Mastodon, and newcomers Extinction Level Event. We also included some video-less songs because they were just too good not to be listed.

Each video offered something different, so we left our list unranked. It just wouldn't be fair to say one video was better than the other -- it would be like comparing apples to asses. Click the links above the videos to read more about them. Enjoy the heavy!

"The Motherload" - Mastodon

In a year of ass-shaking, Mastodon were undisputed champions of the world of metal.

"The Duke" - Monster Magnet

Monster Magnet hit music video gold in this story of the Atomic Age.

“Crows In Swine” – Red Fang

Red Fang made a killer animated music video...

"The Meadows" - Red Fang

... and this one, sponsored by Scion.

"High Road" - Mastodon

It's tough to be a nerd in Mastodon's "High Road."

"Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer" - Behemoth

Witness the majesty of Behemoth live in "Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer."

"Entropy" - Extinction Level Event

Three bassists play bass in Extinction Level Event's "Entropy."

“RUNAWAY GIRLS” – UNCLE ACID & THE DEADBEATS

Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats paid tribute to cults, and all the runaway girls that join them.

“BLACK SABBETH” – GONGA FT BETH GIBBONS OF PORTISHEAD

Gonga and Portishead's Beth Gibbons did a cover of "Black Sabbath" with video footage from the movie where Ozzy and the band got the name.

There were a ton of great metal songs from the year, but not all of them had music videos (or maybe the music video wasn't super amazing). Here are some standout metal tracks of 2014, without those distracting moving pictures:

"Dogma" - Septic Flesh

"Serpent Cult" - Earthship

"Pyrrhic" - Ne Obliviscaris

"Chimes At Midnight" - Mastodon

"O father O Satan O Sun!" - Behemoth
