Freddie "Gangsta" Gibbs is one of the most respected names in hip hop, especially since his critically hailed 2014 record, Piñata. Here, he brings his no-bullshit, straightforward attitude to his GGN interview with Snoop Dogg.

Touching on his influences -- including Snoop himself, 2Pac, and Scarface -- Gibbs describes the formation of the unique sound in his music. Brought up in Gary, Indiana, Gibbs may have a Midwest flavor, but he draws inspiration from everywhere, mentioning the West Coast and South specifically.

Gibbs also talks about his family, including his father-in-law Eric Dickerson, who was a Hall Of Fame NFL Running Back. Gibbs is expecting a daughter soon, and Snoop took the opportunity to give some impromptu parenting advice to him and any relevant viewers.

Finally, Gibbs and Snoop discussed the role of Blaxploitation films in African American culture. Gibbs is very open about his love for the Blaxploitation genre, citing Black Caesar's Tommy Gibbs as the inspiration for his stage name. Its influence is certainly obvious on Piñata, featuring many samples that evoke the tone made famous by the genre, as well as Snoop's recent "So Many Pros" music video.
