The two former Disney stars gave an interview for Good Morning America, where they talked about the upcoming tour. Here's what Nick Jonas said:

Demi and I were business partners and, obviously, have a long history of being friends, but the chief for us was about living in this moment, taking a step out individually over the last year-and-a-half, two years, and growing with our fans and then saying, you know, if there was ever a time to do it, it’s now. We’re so excited to get in front of our fans and rally curate the moment each night.

Rolling Stone points out that this is the sixth tour that Lovato and Jonas have collaborated on, going back to the Jonas Brothers' Burning' Up tour in 2008. On Demi Lovato's 2014 Neon Lights tour, Jonas served as Lovato's musical and creative director.
