On Saturday, February 20, The Music Run will launch its Austin, Texas event at the Travis County Expo Center. Later this year, they'll be happening in Dallas on March 12, Los Angeles on April 23, and Denver on May 21.

The Music Run is a unique event that combines the adrenaline of a 5K run and a music festival, all wrapped into one wild party! Unlike a 5k race, The Music Run is both un-timed and non-competitive, allowing all participants to run, jog, walk, skip, or dance to the finish line.

Participants are encouraged to leave their headphones at home, as each runner helps select the official playlist prior to the run by voting on the top running tracks. The more participants vote and share the songs they want to hear, the more likely their songs will be played at the event. On the actual course, the winning playlist (featuring a wide variety of genres, artists, and songs) will be blasted through concert quality speakers every 50 yards along the route.

The event goes well beyond an average running event, combining live music for an after party — including performances from Austin based artists like Night Drive, folk singer Emily Wolfe, DJ Manny, and other entertainment acts.

Registration is now open for The Music Run, with packages powered by 24 Hour Fitness available for purchase. The Standard Pack, priced at $30, allows entry to the event along with The Music Run merchandise including a t-shirt, bag, sticker and more. The Rock Star Package currently going for $47 includes a t-shirt, phone case, hat, sunglasses, bag, and more.

Event packs may be picked up at various 24 Hour Fitness locations on February 19, or on the day of The Music Run at the Expo Center.
