Detroit music legend Bob Seger has released a new single from his upcoming LP I Knew You When, which is due for release on November 17. Check out the singer's cover of Lou Reed's "Busload of Faith" above, courtesy of the artist's YouTube channel.
Seger's version is a grandiose take on the 1989 tune, employing a layered horn section, robust backup vocals, and stylish guitar licks that add muscle to Reed's gritty colloquial original. In addition to "Busload of Faith," I Knew You When will also feature a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Democracy."
The upcoming LP is dedicated to the memory of Eagles' frontman Glenn Frey, according to a press release on Bob Seger's website. Included on the album is Seger's very own homage to the late songwriter, titled "Glenn Song." Pre-order a copy of I Knew You When on Amazon.
Bob Seger recently postponed his Runaway Train Tour due to medical reasons. For concert information and more, check out Bob Seger's Zumic artist page.
