American psych-pop duo MGMT have released a new track, “Hand It Over,” from their upcoming studio album, Little Dark Age. Check out the lyric video above.

Slow burning, smooth, and chill, "Hand it Over" strikes a clean balance between sadness and joy. The lead vocals are melancholy and smooth, while the dreamy backing vocals help to lighten the mood. With big reverb, spacey synthesizers, and an irreverent attitude, the sound is like a combination of 1960s psychedelic pop, with 1980s soft rock and 2000s indie pop.

Throughout the video, we see lyrics written in calligraphy, which light up and then fade away. Along with words, we are also presented with an array of colors, shapes, and filtered images overlaying on top of one another. We see faces, guns and other objects, while waves move in and wash them all away at the end.  The visual effects match the trippy song.

MGMT’s album, “Little Dark Age, is currently scheduled for a February release, and the band is currently on tour. For the latest music, news, and current tour dates, check out MGMT's Zumic Artist page.
