On February 23, 2018, a new Garcia Live archival album will be released.

Titled GarciaLive, Volume Ten, May 20, 1990, the album will feature a complete concert performance from the Jerry Garcia Band. Members of the group included Jerry Garcia on guitar, bassist John Kahn, drummer Dave Kemper, keyboardist Merl Saunders, and vocalists Gloria Jones and Jacklyn LaBranch. Above, you can listen to a version of "They Love Each Other," which will be included on the 2-CD set.

"They Love Each Other" was performed by the Grateful Dead as early as 1973, but the first studio release of the song was on the Jerry LP Reflections in 1976.  The song was a staple in both JGB and Grateful Dead setlists. This version is highlighted by Saunders' warm organ playing and Garcia's energetic — and a little frenetic — guitar playing.  Kahn and Kemper lay down a relaxed groove and nice supporting vocals.

1990 was an eventful year for Jerry.  He would marry his third wife, Manasha Matheson, in August.  Sadly, keyboardist Brent Mydland died of a heroin overdose in July.

Head to Jerry Garcia’s official store to purchase the complete set.
