Jay-Z on Executive Producing For "The Great Gatsby"

Rap superstar Jay-Z spoke candidly with BlackTree media about his role in the production of "The Great Gatsby", coming out May 10th. He cited his involvement with the project when Leonardo Dicaprio visited him during the recording of his hit song "No Church in the Wild". The soundtrack of the movie is filled with modern day stars, straying away from the music of the era. Huge stars such as Andre 3000, Beyonce, The XX, and even Jay-Z himself contributed to the score.

Star Tobey Macguire also commented on Jay-Z's role in the movie's production. This video, longer than the actual Jay-Z interview offers some more insight into how the contributions that were made the rapper, including information about the direction of the movie, and some conversation about the director Baz Luhrmann
