Elton John — one of music's most legendary and exciting entertainers — has planned to retire from touring after a massive world tour that just added another leg of dates for 2020.

Earlier this week, Elton announced more shows for North America, happening in Ontario, Québec, Pennsylvania, Ohio, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska, Minnesota, Illinois, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri. According to a press release, the world tour will include over 300 shows and cover five continents before eventually wrapping up in 2021, with many more dates expected to be added. Check back here when that information becomes available.

Elton's decision to retire from touring comes at an important time in Elton's life. In 2017, he dealt with a potentially fatal infection, which led him to cancel shows. As early as 2015, John hinted at a possible retirement in an interview with Rolling Stone, saying, "I've had lots of time off with my children, and it's all got to change now that [my son] Zachary is starting school... I've got to be off when half-term comes. And I am planning on cutting down my shows to be with my children because that's what I really love."
