Behold, Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters take on the Willie Dixon classic "Spoonful"

Led Zeppelin fans might have mixed feelings about Robert Plant's tour with these "Sensational Space Shifters" as Led Zep reunion rumors have swirled and fizzled out in the past few years since the one-off O2 Arena show in London. Zeppelin famously turned down an invitation from Bill Clinton to play at the 12-12-12 concert in New York City to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Personally, I love these videos. Plant is taking truly great songs and interpreting them with a band that is based in hard rock, but with a folky approach and uncommon instrumentation. They are slightly difficult to see in the video, but check out these weird stringed instruments:

The sound of the band is transcendental. The mysticism and experimentation of Led Zeppelin lives on and this tour is gonna be great.

Robert Plant will be touring the United States from June 20 to July 27, 2013. Click here for the official Robert Plant And The Strange Sensation tour dates on his website.
