Muse continue the sci-fi theme of their recent music videos from their upcoming Simulation Theory album. Watch "The Dark Side" above on YouTube.
"The Dark Side" follows a string of videos featuring the same '80s themes, sports cars, and chase sequences. It started with "Thought Contagion" and continued with "Dig Down" and "Something Human." The band has said that all 11 songs on the album will get a music video treatment, so stay tuned for more.
Propelled by a steady beat, spacey effects, and Matt Bellamy's signature vocal delivery, the song has the characteristics we know and love from Muse. What makes the song different is some of the '80s sounds with the big reverb on tom drums and a new-wave-meets-vapor-wave vibe with synth driving the rhythm. Directed by Lance Drake, the action-packed video shows Matt speeding around in a sports car while trying to avoid being captured by giant aliens. It's a visually stimulating video and matches the excitement of the song.
Simulation Theory is scheduled for release on November 9, 2018. Pick it up on Amazon.
While no tour dates have been announced yet, the band has hinted that they will be on the road next year. For more, check out the Muse Zumic artist page.
