Folk-rock sisters First Aid Kit have shared a thrilling music video for "Rebel Heart."  Watch above.

Directed by Mats Udd, the video pays tribute to horror films of the '70s.  The group shared a comment on their Facebook page about the inspiration behind the video and song:

Once again, we collaborated with our dearest friend and director Mats Kniven Udd for the "Rebel Heart" video.  We wanted to create a dreamy and mysterious world, of all women and a red moon.  It’s a homage to old 70s horror films and the aesthetics of that era.  "Rebel Heart" was written in the desert, after a night of experimenting with an ouija board and other occult-themed board games.  We thought the video should reflect that.  It’s a song about identity and femininity, it’s about the destroyer we all have inside of us, that dark force that wants to take over.

The song is on the sisters' latest album, Ruins, which was released in January and is currently available on Amazon and other major streaming services.

In related news, First Aid Kit have also announced they will be releasing a 4-song EP titled Tender Offerings on September 14, 2018.  The sisters left a comment about the backstory of the EP:

When we went into the studio to record Ruins we had a lot of material.  Ten songs ended up on the album, but four were left behind.  Thematically they didn’t fit in on a breakup record.  However, these songs are very precious to us.  It was important to make a home for them, physically and online, so here we are.  We hope you enjoy these Tender Offerings.

The band is currently on a North American tour.  For concert tickets and more, check out First Aid Kit's Zumic artist page.
