English rock band The Struts have released their second studio LP Young & Dangerous, four years after their debut record, Everybody Wants.

Young & Dangerous contains 13 songs covering 45 minutes and features band members Luke Spiller on vocals, Adam Slack on guitar, Jed Elliott on bass, and Gethin Davies on drums.

Drawing from influences such as Queen, The Darkness, and Aerosmith, The Struts employ their unique style of hard-driving rock.  Catchy melodies, power chord hooks, and sing-a-long choruses make songs like "Body Talks," "Primadonna Like Me," and "People."

"Bulletproof Baby" finds the band experimenting with an anthemic pop sound, and "Who Am I" flows with a disco-dance vibe.  "Somebody New" is an emotional ballad that shows the band's softer side, and "Freak Like You" is a stomping rocker featuring hand claps, keys, and an infectious chorus.  Through the album, the slick production is a double-edged sword.  The songs sound big and professional, but the rhythm section sounds stiff and sterile which doesn't suit the classic rock swagger to which the band aspires.

Young & Dangerous shows that timeless rock and roll is still alive, and bands like The Struts are taking their influences and putting their own unique style to the genre and helping to carry the torch forward.  Their brand of rock might not agree with everyone, but there is no question that The Struts music is enthusiastic, passionate, and here to stay.

Our favorite songs are "Body Talks" (which also gets a Kesha version as a bonus track on the album), "Primadonna Like Me," "People," and "Somebody New."

Young & Dangerous is currently available on Amazon and major streaming services.  You can also stream it below via Spotify.

The band is currently on a North American tour.  For concert tickets and more, check out The Struts Zumic artist page.
