In Buddhist theology, Bardo is the intermediary period between one life and another. "Bardo States", the new single from Salvia Plath represents just that as Plath is the latest reincarnation of Run DMT frontman Mike Collins. The Baltimore singer-songwriter is in between two phases of his life and the video and song convey a large sense of waiting- the bass line slowly creeps along as Collins' voice is distorted and distant above the music, a tambourine keeping beat morphs into a sad ticking clock. The video is grainy and has no sense of real action or purpose.
The man in the video also rocks a dope White Sox Starter jacket who, until recently, were a franchise that epitomized waiting.
