The Doobie Brothers and their fans will need to wait an extra year for the band's 50th Anniversary Tour.
Due to COVID-19, the North American tour has been rescheduled from July through October of 2021 with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band on board as the opening act. The Doobie Brothers also have a Las Vegas residency scheduled in November, which is still planned to happen in 2020.
The Doobies will reunite with Michael McDonald for the first time in 26 years. McDonald, who first started with the Doobies in 1975 and served as a lead singer-songwriter with the band for many years, will join the longtime core lineup of Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, and John McFee. After releasing his first solo album in 1982, Michael emerged as a star artist with some of the most memorable songs of the '80s, only occasionally joining the Doobies for special performances.
