Sam Baker was able to make his forthcoming album say grace using funding from Kickstarter. Baker -— a simple man who writes simple, yet meaningful songs about life's ups and downs -- sings about a blue collar family's struggles in his latest single, "ditch".

Regarding the song, Baker said:

"I spent a lot of my life on job sites. The people that dig and lay underground stuff have one of the hardest, most dangerous jobs out there. Heavy pipe and metal hanging over their heads, explosive things to cut, gas lines, high voltage electrical water, sewage – amazing amount of trouble to be found just beneath the surface. But it is good to have work. Good to have pay.”
