"Throw Your Arms Around Me" - Eddie Vedder & Neil Finn (Hunters & Collectors Cover) [SoundCloud Audio Stream]

Eddie Vedder and Neil Finn have recorded "Throw Your Arms Around Me" for a tribute album to the song's creators, the Melbourne, Australia band Hunters & Collectors that were mainly active during the 1980s. Check out the free SoundCloud stream above.

Neil Finn is best known as the singer, guitar player, and songwriter of Crowded House, another Melbourne band who have been known to perform the song live for a long time. Eddie Vedder first learned the song from Crowded House, and he's covered it many times with Pearl Jam. The version here is a sweet take on the original, with acoustic guitars and a soft organ providing a backdrop for Vedder's lead vocal with Finn providing a nice backup.

The song is off the upcoming album, Crucible, featuring the songs of Hunters & Collectors. The album will include 1 disc of the band's original recordings in a greatest hits type of compilation, with a 2nd disc featuring cover versions of the same songs. The album will be available September 27th, and it's currently available for pre-order:
