Minor Alps, the new rock duo of Juliana Hatfield and Nada Surf's Matthew Caws just released a video for their new single "I Don't Know What To Do With My Hands," set to appear on their upcoming debut Get There this month.

The catchy alternative track draws influence from The Pixies and The Breeders, with a heavy nineties feel. The constant pulsing bass carries the song through quiet verses and a booming chorus, With Hatfield's soft vocals complimenting Caws' laid back style perfectly. The guitar work is fairly standard, with some interesting chorus riffs breaking up the chugging bar chords.

The video is a stop motion montage, focusing on several scenes where "I Don't Know What To Do With My Hands" warps from a title to a literal description. The ending sequence of a burning guitar crushed over a tree trunk is the exciting high point, but the constant quick cuts between pictures keep the rest of the video interesting to look at. From the catchy music and destructive video, it looks like Minor Alps shows plenty of potential with carrying on Nada Surf's alt rock sound with a fresh, interesting flavor.

Pre-order Get There, due out on October 29th, from the Barsuk Records.
