In 1983, Steve Wozniak organized the second annual US Festival, which was billed as "3 days of New Wave, Heavy Metal and Rock." Today, US Festival 1983 Days 1 – 3 is out on DVD, chronicling performances from The Clash, Judas Priest, Stevie Nicks, Scorpions, U2, and many more. SPIN has shared footage of U2's performance of "The Electric Co." at the festival, which you can now watch above.

The four piece from Dublin tear through the Boy track, all wearing outfits they've most likely come to regret, and are led by a formidably mulletted Bono. The superstar frontman, not content with singing five feet above the audience, proceeds to climb high above onto the very top of the stage, and address the crowd like he's Moses on the mountain. It's a wild performance overall, and one that certainly aided in U2's ascent up the alt-rock hierarchy.

You can buy US Festival 1983 Days 1 – 3 right now on Amazon. Watch a clip of The Clash performing "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" at the same festival, and for U2's latest music and news, check out their Zumic artist page.
