Displaying his talents as an unintentional comedian as well as a performer, R. Kelly discussed the upcoming release of his album Black Panties on Jimmy Kimmel Live! before diving into a three song medley of new tracks "Genius," "My Story," and "You Deserve Better." While the songs represent R. Kelly's brand of sensual R&B accurately onstage, the vocal effects on his microphone gave a strange delay, giving the appearance of a lip-synced performance. Also strange was the inclusion of 2 Chainz on "My Story," whose rap was out of nowhere and at odds with Kelly's voice. Past the music though, R. Kelly proves that he is beyond competent as a showman, creating a provocative and memorable performance. Look forward to witnessing the star literally play a woman like a cello.

His interview has an almost South Park-like sense of what seems to be self-parody where we see Kelly as less of normal person and more of a caricature of the rampant sexuality that made him popular in the first place. Discussing the name of his controversial Black Panties, he mentions showers of undergarments and the inspirational album namesake ("I think it was a medium" he quips,) that landed directly on his microphone. Check out the full interview below for more on Black Panties, his to-be TV/stage adaptations of Trapped in the Closet, and McDonald's freestyles.
