Broken Bells have a new album, After the Disco, dropping on February 4th, and they've already shared lead single "Holding on for Life" with the world. Today, the duo's decided to release the album's title track on YouTube. Listen in above.

Despite the band's earlier assertion that there's "nothing disco about the album," one listen of "After the Disco" has me begging to differ. Hi-hats tap on the song's offbeats, the sleek bassline could easily be the work of Chic's Bernard Edwards, and James Mercer's angelic falsetto will make you check the album's credits to see if anybody named Gibb guested on the track. Especially in conjunction with the white boy G-Funk of "Holding on for Life," "After the Disco" seems pretty damn disco-influenced. But all disco debates aside, the song is very enjoyable.

"After the Disco" is also the name of a short film that Broken Bells made to accompany the album of the same name. You can watch part one and part two of it right here on Zumic. Visit Broken Bells' Zumic Artist Page for more music, news and updated tour information.

Broken Bells "After the Disco" lyrics:

After your faith has let you down
I know you'll want to run around
And follow the crowd into the night
But after the disco, all of the shine just faded away
Oh, do what you want, do what you will
Don't tell me it's not our time

[Bridge]
'Cuz I'm waiting here much too long
And don't assume that I need your love
The chilly night has got you dancing away
And I'm not the dreamer or the dream
You're out there looking for

[Chorus]
How did I get in this winding maze of love
And there's something wrong
and it's sending you
Around and round so we go nowhere

I see the ashes on the ground
Another world is burning down
And under the cold and empty moon
But after the disco
All of the shine just faded away
Oh, do what you want, do what you will
But you can't hide
Oh, do what you want, do what you will
Don't tell me it's not our time

[Bridge]

[Chorus]
