Roadkill Ghost Choir are one of the great up and coming rock bands of the moment. Last night, they made their network television debut on the Late Show with David Letterman and played a fantastic version of "Beggar's Guild" from their debut EP Quiet Light.

The song is an absolute tour-de-force, with Kiffy Myers' rollicking banjo and Andrew Shepard's vocals setting the tone for an epic narrative. The band is extremely tight and it's really amazing how much they can do so much in just under 4 minutes. The other two Shepard brothers, Maxx on drums and Zach on bass, provide a strong rhythm section, and Stephen Garza shows great versatility on electric guitar going from soft harmonic support to hard edged overdriven rock and roll bursting with energy.

It should be said that the only problem with the video is that the picture isn't perfectly synced with the audio because it was a bad transfer by a non-authorized YouTube user. You can watch the full episode on David Letterman's website and fast forward to the final section for a better quality video transfer (although lower resolution).

For more music from the Deland, Florida group, be sure to check out their acoustic performances at Zumic's offices which was a real joy for us.
