Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante and At The Drive-In / The Mars Volta's Omar Rodríguez-López' have debuted music from their new band, Kimono Kult.
"Todo Menos El Dolor" is the first single from their four song debut EP titled Hiding In The Light, which is set for digital release on March 4 through Neurotic Yell Records.

The song borders on the style of Nine Inch Nails meets Radiohead in an underwater dance club. The echoing drum machine beats of Swahili Blonde drummer Nicole Turley mixes with the string arrangements of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez as spanish vocals by Bosnian Rainbows Teri Gender Bender passionately flow throughout, at times screaming and at times moaning. The title of the track translates to "Everything but the Pain." According to the SoundCloud page, the EP is “four songs of electro / dub / afro-beat / avant-freak / jazz-like conversations of instrumental ecstasy.”

Teri Bender talked to Rolling Stone about the role of the Spanish language in their songs, saying:

"The lyrics to "Todo Menos el Dolor" is for the listener's imagination. Spanish speaking or not, it goes way beyond language and is more about atmosphere. To me it could be a story about an alien that wanted to eat cats but it caused the critter so much pain that he became a vegetarian. Every interpretation is valid".
