of Montreal have just shared a video for "She Ain't Speakin' Now," the country-tinged psychedelic single from last year's radical style-reinvention, Lousy With Sylvianbriar.
While the song itself dealt with a lover's debilitating illness as metaphor for a crumbling relationship, the Nina Barnes and Eddie Whelan co-directed video addresses this doomed romance directly, relegating all fever-dream implications to the realm of hallucinatory visual-filters. The result is a genuinely moving portrait of misplaced nostalgia and fractured perspectives.
Lousy With Sylvianbriar is available through Polyvinyl Records.
