"Fresh Pond" - Krill [SoundCloud Audio]

Krill has released the third song from their upcoming "failed concept album" Steve Hears Pile In Malden and Bursts Into Tears titled "Fresh Pond." The song manages to capture the band's range of slacker rock, beginning with a disjointed intro of instruments playing in random order before breaking into a concise, high-energy chorus. It soon dwindles into a mellow, quiet acoustic guitar outro, as if the song has told a full story of a rise and fall. Clocking in at six minutes, "Fresh Pond" manages to stay fresh and enjoyable despite its length.

The album, Steve Hears Pile In Malden and Bursts Into Tears was originally supposed to be a story of "two kids living on the outskirts of Boston who realize they are characters in a Pile song." The titular Steve wants to form a band but is met with apathy from his friend Mouth. Though the concept failed to carry through a whole album, the EP's worth of tracks recorded and released have so far been great.
