"GossipZilla" - Big Boi ft Big K.R.I.T., UGK & Blue Oyster Cult [YouTube Video]

As part of his Mashup Monday series, Big Boi has just released a mashup of Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors cut "Gossip (Feat. UGK & Big K.R.I.T.)" with Blue Oyster Cult's classic "Godzilla," titled "GossipZilla." Surprisingly, the two songs mash well together, trading in the smooth R&B funk of the original tune for some '70s rock. You can stream the song on SoundCloud.

This is the third of nine mashups Big Boi plans to release. The three mashups were remixed by a producer named Dungeoneze. Three weeks ago, Big Boi started the trend when his song "Thom Pettite (feat. Little Dragon & Killer Mike)" with Yarbrough and Peoples' "Don't Stop the Music" for "Thom Peoples." He then followed that up with, “C.P.U. 2.0,” mashup of “C.P.U. (Feat. Phantogram)” and Sade’s “Nothing Can Come Between Us.”

The video, animated by Johnny Woods, looks like it's set in a Windows 95 screensaver. The whole thing is animated from the point of view of a character who wanders around with a laser gun shooting eyeballs. I guess it really is something you have to see for yourself to truly understand.
