Last night, David Letterman continued his weeklong celebration of the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show with a performance by Sting, Ivy Levan and Incubus' Mike Einziger. The trio, assisted by a full band that included Paul Shaffer on piano, covered the Rubber Soul classic, "Drive My Car." Watch above.
The performance stayed fairly true to the original, with the additions of some nice interplay between the vocalists, and Einziger's unique take on the song's guitar solo, which was (somewhat surprisingly) originally played by Paul McCartney. Paul Shaffer brought some of his TV personality charisma to the stage, but ultimately, Sting and Levan had the best stage presence:
