White Denim's 2013 album Corsicana Lemonade is a throwback '70s rocker with inventive guitar parts and cool modern elements as well. Last night on Conan, the group played the opening track, "At Night In Dreams," which like a cross between Edgar Winter and Steely Dan. Watch above.
The opening riff is intricate, and the band seems like they're laboring to play it smoothly and lock in with each other. Once James Petralli starts singing the verse, things settle down and the powerful groove builds. By the time the song is over, it feels like they're just starting to get warmed up. This would be a fun live concert experience.
