Arcade Fire stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform "Afterlife" from their 2013 album Reflektor. Watch official video of the performance above, via Hulu.

It was a bit of an unusual performance because of some of the technical aspects of the staged show. Things start with a reflekted image of the band in the kick drum. Win Butler really pushes the envelope, holding one of NBC's cameras to capture the hold band before turning the camera in his own face for the first verse. He passes the camera back to one of the cameramen for the chorus.

Also, the band is stretched out vertically instead of horizontally, from the audience's perspective. The 10 people, including 2 drummers, 2 percussionists, 3 keyboardists, guitar, and violin, are in basically 2 rows from front to back. Toward the end of the song, Win climbs up into the audience's seating. It's kind of like what Bono used to do in the early days of U2.
