Vampire Weekend's performance for Live From The Artists Den will premiere on PBS television this weekend. Check local listings. Their performance of "Step" was posted on YouTube earlier today. Watch above.

The venue for this particular show was New York’s General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen, and as you can see in the video, it's quite the old school hallowed place. There's an ambiance in the room that you can feel, as is the cast for most Artists Den shows. The very intimate show has the band playing a pretty mellow version of the song. A few people in the crowd can be seen dancing and bobbing their heads, but for the most part the audience is subdued by the chamber pop brilliance of the song. By the end, there is some synchronized hand clapping and stomping, but even that is pretty low key. Processed vocals give a nice strange feeeling, and Rostam Batmanglij's piano parts are absolutely mesmerizing.
