The Avett Brothers took their unique blend of bluegrass, country, folk, and pop rock to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night as they performed "Skin and Bones" from their 2013 album Magpie and the Dandelion. Watch above.
As we've come to expect, the level of musicianship is high and the vocals are on point. The backdrop shows moving images of the cover art to their last album, which is pretty cool. Seth and Scott Avett trade vocal duties throughout, singing heavy and slightly depressing lyrics although there does seem to be a glimmer of hope as they sing "growing stronger and loud" repeatedly toward the end of the tune. Worth noting: Scott Avett's banjo has a message written on it that they love their aunt.
