Last night's Saturday Night Live experienced a Brooklyn takeover of sorts, with Girls' Lena Dunham hosting and the borough's own The National performing two songs from their most recent album. Below, watch the band play Trouble Will Find Me tracks "Graceless" and "I Need My Girl" from last night's show.

Backed by a six-piece band, Matt Berninger was classy as ever, wearing a a dapper suit and delivering the sort of emotional performance we've all come to expect from him at this point. His tortured screams at the end of "Graceless" were a definite highlight of the show. The Dessner brothers provided dynamic guitar playing throughout, particularly when Bryce brought out a second guitar in the middle of "I Need My Girl" to play with some feedback. As good as The National are on record, their live performances seem to always bring out unique elements of their music, making them a must-see indie rock band. If you haven't had a chance to see them live yet, TV performances like this are the next best thing.
