One of the sure highlights of The FADER's unbelievably stacked SXSW shows was Damon Albarn's headlining set on Friday night. It yielded Del The Funky Homosapien's first-ever live performance of "Clint Eastwood" (accompanied by no less than Snoop Dogg), and also brought De La Soul to the stage for a joyous version of "Feel Good Inc." Backed by a live band, Albarn and De La Soul seemed gleeful to be reunited with one another, and turned out a loose, fun performance. Seeing the famous "Feel Good Inc." laugh recreated live (multiple times) was a blast, as were De La Soul's numerous ad-libs and attempts to get the crowd pumped up. Seeing Gorillaz' two biggest hits performed live is, especially now that the virtual group's on "indefinite hiatus," a rare treat, so atendees of Firday night's FADER Fort should count themselves lucky.
